About Ramah

Mission & Philosophy

We believe in the transformative power of summer camp.

Rooted in Jewish tradition and values, our programs are designed to foster personal growth, develop strong relationships, and instill a love for Judaism that will last a lifetime.

Growth and

Independence

We are committed to the well-being, safety, and development of each camper. Campers are empowered to develop their independence by providing them with opportunities to make decisions, take risks and solve problems. Our programs are designed to challenge campers to step outside their comfort zones, try new things, and discover their own strengths a capabilities. Camp is the ideal place to have fun, make friends, be part of a group, develop leadership skills, and gain self-confidence. By giving our campers a safe environment to make independent choices and take on responsibility, each summer they leave with new levels of confidence, self-esteem, and sense of personal achievement.

Cultures of

Kindness

At the heart of the Ramah experience is an emphasis on treating others with compassion, respect, and empathy. Essential to creating a positive and supportive K'hillah Kedosha (a holy community), we strive to model and teach our campers the value of kindness, both through specific targeted programming and through the daily interactions and relationships that are built at camp. By reinforcing cultures of kindness throughout the camp experience, we help our campers make meaningful relationships with each other and with the world around them.

Surrounded by

Joyful Judaism

Ramah is known for its immersive Jewish environment and for celebrating Jewish identity. A unique community that embodies where Jewish living, learning, and values are seamlessly integrated into the daily camp experience. The meaningful friendships and connections that develop among campers, and staff are what create the strong sense of belonging and community that characterize the Ramah experience.

A place of

Inclusivity

We believe that everyone has a home at Camp Ramah in the Poconos, regardless of background, abilities, or identity. We strive to create an inclusive and welcoming environment where every camper feels valued, accepted, and supported. Our programming is designed to be accessible and engaging for campers of all abilities and interests as we take action to ensure everyone has the opportunity to participate fully in the camp experience. By focusing on inclusivity at our core, we help our campers build a deep appreciation for diversity and difference, and we foster a sense of belonging and connection that extends beyond the boundaries of our camp community.
