Haas Pharmacy

Medication, Vitamins & Supplements Information

This summer, we are partnering with Haas Pharmacy to provide campers with their prescription and over-the-counter ORAL medications, supplements, and vitamins.

Taste of Ramah and International Campers Do NOT use Haas Pharmacy. Medications are to be sent with your child.

We recommend reading the following information carefully if your child will take medication, supplements, or vitamins- daily or as needed- at camp this summer.

How it Works

  • All ORAL medication, including prescriptions, vitamins/supplements, and over-the-count (OTC) medications must come through Haas Pharmacy. This includes liquid medications, orally disintegrating tablets (ODT) and “As Needed” items, such as allergy pills. This will ensure safe and on time arrival of medications at the Marp (Health Center) so they are ready for your camper on opening day. See exceptions, below.*

  • Haas Pharmacy will use blister packs for prescriptions and OTC medications, including vitamins and supplements, in pill form. Each pack will be clearly labeled with your camper’s name, medication(s) name, RX number, date, administration time, and specific dispensing instructions.

  • Haas Pharmacy IS ABLE to provide EpiPens, topicals, eye drops, nasal sprays, and inhalers. While we recommend ordering everything through Haas Pharmacy, you may send these items with your child.

  • *Haas Pharmacy is NOT ABLE to provide refrigerated medications, specialty medications, compound prescriptions, Accutane (isotretinoin), and birth control pills. This list includes growth hormone, biologics, allergy serum and insulin. These items must be sent/brought to camp before or on opening day and must have a current prescription label and be packed in a cooler if refrigeration is needed. Please send all supplies needed for administration (needles, alcohol wipes, cartridge injector). As needed ibuprofen, acetaminophen, TUMS, benadryl, decongestants are stocked at the health center & do not need to be ordered through Haas Pharmacy. Miralax will also be provided by the camp.

  • Haas Pharmacy will not package or fill requests for anything in GUMMY form. This is aligned with our NO GUMMY Policy. Please order a chewable, non-gummy alternative for must-have OTC vitamins and supplements.

Registration Deadlines:

All registrations are due Thursday, May 1st, 2025, regardless of session.
To register: Pharmacy Registration Form

Register now so that Haas Pharmacy can:

  • Verify your insurance

  • Reach out to you or your child's healthcare provider (HCP) about prescriptions & OTCs

  • Very Important - order the needed medications for their stock, so they have what they need to fill the prescription and orders. This is especially essential for ADD medications.

Starting the process now enables Haas Pharmacy to provide the best service possible. If there is any possibility that your child might end up taking medicine, supplements or vitamins at camp this summer, we suggest you register now. If you register and end up NOT needing their services, you will be refunded.

Registration Fees:

  • The registration fee for packaging and handling is $50 per camper for one session and $80 per camper for campers attending both sessions.

  • Taste of Tikvah campers fee is $50 per camper. (The pharmacy will be providing a full month of medication)

  • NOTE: Registration must be completed by May 1st, 2025 and prescriptions received by the dates listed below.

Registration Late Fees:

  • If the registration form is not submitted by May 1st, 2025, you will be charged an additional $25 as part of the registration fee.

  • If the registration form is not finished 2 weeks prior to the camper’s session, an additional $50 will be charged as part of the registration fee.

  • If the registration form is not finished 1 week prior to the camper’s session, an additional $100 will be charged as part of the registration fee.

  • Camp Ramah in the Poconos will charge $200/session for not complying with our Medication Policy: all ORAL medications, supplements and vitamins must be packaged or obtained from our packaging pharmacy, unless pre-approved by our Medical Committee

Registration Form Instructions:

  • Here you will fill out the “Medication Registration” form. The form includes: name, birthdate, address, insurance information, medication information, doctor(s), credit card information, etc. After submission, any changes such as additions or deletions of medications can be made via email (bobby.haas1@gmail.com) or phone (845-753-9675).

  • If you have more than one camper taking medication, a form must be filled out separately for each camper. If the insurance card and credit card are the same, you will only need to fill that out once.

  • You will need to fill out your camper’s physician information and then list the medication, quantity, dosage, and time of day under the prescribing physician.

  • List any over-the-counter (OTC) products under the primary care provider. Haas pharmacy will only request prescriptions for these medications from the provider if they are covered by your insurance.

  • Camp Ramah will not administer vitamins and supplements from home while we await vitamins or supplements that were ordered late and are being sent after camp begins. Do not send bottles of vitamins or supplements to camp.

  • Haas Pharmacy has a comments/questions box if you need to include anything else or have questions.

Insurance:

  • Haas Pharmacy accepts most insurance plans. They will verify the camper’s insurance upon registration and submit to their plan. Prescription medications will be billed directly to your insurance company. When a medication is delivered earlier than the insurance company will pay, they will delay billing until the time that the insurance will cover the costs agreed to in your policy.

  • The cost of medication(s) not covered by your insurance company, as well as any copayments and/or deductibles and registration fee, will be billed to the credit card provided. The cost of over the counter items will also be billed to the credit card.
