When Will You Hear from the Marp?

In the majority of circumstances, you should hear from Health Center staff by phone if:

  • Your child is seen by the camp doctor and requires:
  • Antibiotics or medication for a new onset condition
  • A trip to the walk-in orthopedic clinic, the ER, lab or any outside provider (in these circumstances, campers are always supervised and accompanied be designated camp staff)
  • Your child has stayed overnight in the marp for illness or injury
  • There is a need to discuss medication regimen

In the majority of circumstances, you may hear from the Health Center staff by email if:

  • There is a non-urgent issue we want to share (i.e your child came to the marp due to a broken braces bracket, a loose or bothersome wire) so you can arrange an appointment upon their return from camp
  • We want to follow up on recovery from an illness/injury or share progress on a treatment regimen
  • We require additional supplies or medication that you provide for your camper

The Ramah Poconos Health Center sees dozens of campers and staff daily for a wide variety of issues.

Sometimes, campers write home when they are not feeling well or have had a minor injury. In most cases, even though you’re hearing about it for the first time, by the time the letter arrives to you, it is old news.

Should you have a concern about a medical issue, please email us at marp@ramahpoconos.org so that we can provide a current update. For anything non-urgent, we strive to respond within 24 hours. You may also email your child’s Yoetz/et for an update on news shared in their letter.
