YOUR SUMMER TO BE WHO YOU ARE!
Every summer job gives you future work experience. But what summer job lets you grow as an individual in a community of young Jewish adults just like you, while also gaining valuable and translatable skills such as programming, education, management, and counseling?
People come to Ramah from a wide range of Jewish observance and background. Thus, Jewish life at Ramah is a mixture of tradition, blended together with new practices, modern Jewish philosophy, and meaningful ritual experiences. Being Jewish assumes a new dimension when it takes place in a setting of natural beauty, surrounded by a community of friends and co-workers.
YOUR SUMMER TO SHARE YOURSELF
Everyone on staff serves as a dugma (mentor) to our campers. While we do engage in daily meaningful t’fillah (prayer) experiences, we believe that our campers will be inspired to become the leaders that they are destined to become because of our staff members. This will happen through the thousands of informal conversations with their counselors and staff role-models- while in the bunk, around the campfire, playing basketball, or just taking a stroll around camp. As a staff member, you truly have many opportunities to change a child’s life.
WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT DURING YOUR SUMMER?
Both Camp Ramah in the Poconos and Ramah Day Camp start the summer off with an intensive staff week of training. In addition to valuable planning and preparation time, staff week includes activities just for staff members. Staff training and hadrachah (counseling) continue throughout the summer.
In addition, evening programs designed for staff take place almost every night. Staff members enjoy basketball leagues, barbecues, social programs, and educational opportunities.
You will have opportunities to create innovative camp programs, together with a team of enthusiastic, committed, caring, nurturing, and creative people-just like you. What will you gain from a job at Ramah?
- Valuable skills that employers are looking for such as teamwork, leadership, responsibility, supervisory skills, communication skills and positive work ethic
- Preparation for graduate school and the job market
- The joy of belonging to a close-knit Jewish community of young adults like yourself
- Friendships that last well past the summer
- The chance to change a child’s life!
